Did you know that Aalborg Portland extracts 10,000 tons of chalk, sells 7,000 tons of cement, and handles two ship arrivals every day? That’s quite an operation!

Recently, more than 30 of our members visited Aalborg Portland, where we learned a bit about the company’s history — but mostly about its plans for the future. Among other things, how they aim to reduce their annual CO₂ emissions from 2.2 million tons to 600,000 tons.

We also took a bus tour around the factory area and, not least, through the chalk quarry.
